Time for another update i guess, so here goes
STOP 4
VENICE
prehaps the most expensive city in europe (not kidding here people). We arrived by train and had a tentbooked at a campsite just outside of venice. because we were camping it was naturally raining but that didnt stop us and we made it. To our plesent suprise we were upgraded to a small cabin and had 2 nights of good sleeping. Venice itself is very nice if built like a maze. got lost SO many times you would not believe. nota lot to do and one day was all we needed to see the whole place. St. Marco's square (it aint square) was lovely with sceneic views over the water....or a least the 2 minutes of that view we had were awesome until a cruise liner parked in it. typical but oh well :)
The camp site was fun with lots of interesting people and the nights were spent...well drinking lots of beer and swimmng in the pool with 4 american girls. WIN!!!
STOP 5 - BERLIN!!!!
By far the coolest city on earth!!! i could live here tomorrow no problem. there is a lot too see in the city and we spent 4 days there partying and having a blast. The first day we plodded around to see what was around and generally what there was to do, we found a bar and enjoyed german beer :) ahhh bliss. the next day we did a walking tour of the city and were taken around to the berlin wall, check point charlie, all the surviving nazi buildings and Hitlers final bunker and the place were he and his wife's bodies were burnt by his closest aids.
The funny thing about check point charlie is that there are several men dressed in military uniforms avalible to take photos with (for a small fee) around the site. the men are strippers for a company that got the contract for the job..hehe. got to love the respect
The other interesting fact that we learnt is about the momument to the murdered jews of europe. a touchy point in its own right but what makes it special for me is the anti graffiti paint on the monument. Its made by the same company that made the gas for the gas chambers during the war....i know right....did you guys in the goverment not read your files or are you really that dumb :p (i did laugh my butt of when i heard this but i am a bit morbid)
The next day we just chilled with a friend of liams and didnt see much except the bottom of beer glasses. a good day really but as we went to a concentration camp the next day for another walking tour we needed it. i wont say much about the sachsenburg concentration camp but it was a odd place and although i wasnt sad it was a depressing place (funny that).
STOP 6 - INTERLARKEN (switzerland)
I have been here before a few years ago as i have family here. One of the most stunning place in europe. a small town set in a between two giant lakes in a valley surrounded by mountains. there was even snow on the jungfrau mountain (tallest one in europe). just stunning....
we hiked the first day and partied the next as it was Liam's birthday. you can do every kind of extreme sport here but it all cost so we did none...um...yeah i know, sucks huh? well i did get to catch up with family and just relaxed for several days. cant ask for more

Well its been an age so i thought a update might be in order. So where did i leave you all last? ah yes London where i meet up with the lovely alibaster (forgot how to do lj code thingies). my first australian contact in 6 months. we had a merry day of shopping, shakespear, eating and catching up. a few days later my friend Liam from uni arrived and we begun our travels to europe
Stop 1 - PARIS!!!
i loved paris, such a cool city is damn expensive. the people were friendly and helpful (i know, french right wtf??) and seemed to enjoy listening to us blurt odd french phrases at them from a book.....guess i should stick to malay or german.
what did we see i hear you ask. well we had 2 days of walking around and saw the effiel tower, the victory arch thingy that i cant say let alone spell, the louve, notre dame, other churches and my favourite the catacombs (2km of tiny tunnel lined in the bones of ancient plauge victims. totally sweet :). on our last night we gathered 4 canadiens, 1 american and 12 bottles of wine and went to a overlook of the city and got trashed...we then went to the red light district to see the moulin rouge. awesome building. i did my best to get a imperssination photo of us as the VNV Nations guys out the front but we were far to drunk and didnt even notice that the rouge wasnt even in the background.....we did good
stop 2 - ROME
our train journey from paris to rome was quiet literly the worst bit of travel i have ever endured. 12 hours in a coffin like bed with the roof being so close i could not even life my head enough to look at my feet. liam and i had the top bunks of the two satcs of 3 beds. it was about 45 degrees (i am not kidding). so we passed out in our own sweat pools and hoped that wont die before we got there.
right onto rome. after such a journey on italiann rail we were not the happiest chaps and rome did not give a first good impression so i am afraid we both didnt like it. the collosium was impressive as was the vatican (liam didnt get in haha as he had a singlet on. they let me in but not him....hehe pure joy) but we cut our days down by one and got out
Stop 3 - FLORENCE
the best place in italy by far. a wonderfull mini city with awesome places to go and lovely buildings. we had a laid back fun hostel and spent 2 days walking around seeing the sights. the statue of David is awesome...his replica is exactly the same so why we paid to see the damn thning i have no idea but there you go. the duomo was very impressive but still very churchy (amazing that i know) so i got bored very fast and went for beer. excellent food and lots of free wine at the hostel completed a awesome stay in the city.
well we have done more but i am bored of typing so i will update venice and berlin in a couple of days |

well liam is now in england and our trip is planned. its going to be a wirlwind tour of central europe with lots of craziness. sweet.... meet up with the lovely Alice in camden markets earlier this week, spent lots of money and enjoyed a supurb day.
in other news i shall be going to melbourne for a while in early october. Egypt didnt come off so back to Oz :) Update again before we go |

its been a while since my last update i know but here is not a lt to say when one is on a small tropicl island. did come face to face with an over 5m Salt water croc underwater on a night dive though.....yeah didnt really maintain my composure infront of my customers and immediatly hid on the bottom. thankfully it swam on past and the people i was guideing didnt even see it.....
on hindsight i wish i had taken a picture and it was rather amusing. at the time....no
So now i am in london, YAY and just chilling out after my 13 hour and 4 hour flights to get here. meeting the lovely alice on monday for a day in camden markets *bank account winces*
i will try and update a bit more now as i dont have to bribe the army to use the internet in uk :) |

I'm in singapore for 4 days, YAY!!!! needed to leave to renew my visa so here i be. very cool city :)
In diving news i actually saw 4 Manta Rays underwater.....OMG that was sweet!!!! other staff memebers hate me MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Then i cracked my shin bone and have got shin splints once again so i had a week off diving. God i was bored but all is well again.
Please tell me how everything is going in your lovely lives, its nice to actually get a message every now and again |

hey people,
okay where shall i begin? well i left perth on the 16th feb at 8:05am (thanks to the lovely Malice for the lift). took me the whole day to get to Semporna in borneo, and arrived at about 9:30pm. just in time to buy a round for the staff apparently. then i started work and diving (same thing really) and been doing it almost everyday since.
For the last two weeks i have been living on the small island of Mabul of he coast of sabah, Borneo. just sun (Dont all die but i have quiet a nice dark tan), sand, booze (drunk a LOT!!!! of rum), partying and my mum visiting. all in all its been appsolutly awesome. i will be here till september before i leave for germany and the octoberfest....SWEET!!!!
I shall get round to posting photos at some point but need less to say internet here aint great so it takes a while.
Love and miss you all and send me details at to whats going on in the real world

Well Xmas was one of the best ever. 50 drunken divers and really well sung bad music and A lot of local spirits. (about 30cents shot) Everyone from the 89 year old granny to the 16 year old malaysian staff were involved and it rocked...
Damn i am going to miss this place and will return ASAP. I need a meat pie though, just got that craving... So i shall be home soon and look forward to seeing you all but i have the travel bug again and doubt i shall be able to stay put for long.
well i need food before i start the 36 hour trip home....*censored*.... |

| Borneo update - Diving |

hey people, i know most of you don't care (or dont want to care hehe) but here is a quick update of my travels so far. been diving for the last several days and...wow....it is truely amazing here. so much life here its just breath taking. the family had taken hundreds of photos and i will see if i can upload a couple. seen green turtles bigger than me, giant eels, mantis shrimp (stongest creature in th world, can punch as hard as a bullet) giant cuttle fish, scorpian fish, stone fish, sting rays and many, many more.
And i've only been to the average sites so far as well...yippie. oh also had my teeth cleaned by shrimp today which was cool.

greeting once again.
well i have now left sepilok and traveled on bus to sandakan and then on to semporna. this is the home of diving and the island of sipidan is meant to be one of the best in the world. yay
as we have a underwater camera with us i hope to post pictures when we take some. gotten a bit beter with the heat and so i dont melt in the 35degC and 80-100% humidity days. having a few withdraw symptoms from beer but i'm told is good for me....so cocktails it is. at about $2 each for MASSIVE glasses i cant complain.
enjoying my trip immensly but sadly i cant wear a pith helmet as i cant find one but i shall try. well i'm off as its time for my breakfast noodles.
